Elmhurst Music Boosters is providing two scholarship opportunities to encourage students to continue to play their instrument and to help parents with financial commitments: "Symphony" (out-of-district) music camp stipends and "Sonata" (District 205 Fine Arts summer camp) scholarships. Music directors determine recipients of all scholarship types. EMB determines how many scholarships and the amount of each scholarship based on available funding.
Symphony/Out-of-District Music camp stipends assist middle school students in paying for various non-District 205 camps to study with renowned music educators. Students enjoy the opportunity to learn and perform in bands, orchestras and choirs with other aspiring musicians. Students must complete an application to be considered for these stipends. Recipients are chosen by their music director and will be notified by the EMB. The application opens January 17th, 2024 and the deadline to apply will be March 22nd, 2024. Please fill out the APPLICATION here when it opens in January. Paper forms will be available as well. Please contact Kanako at EIMB205webmaster@gmail.com with any questions.
The Sonata/District 205 Summer Fine Arts Program scholarships assist with tuition payments for band, orchestra, choir and music production summer camps provided by District 205. The Program encourages regular practice during the summer months, particularly important for the success of music students as it helps them retain and reinforce concepts that they have learned throughout the year and improve their technique in preparation for the school year ahead. District 205 scholarship recipients chosen by directors and are generally notified in early February.
